The class rooms are spacious, well-lit, well-furnished and equipped with modern teaching aids like Over Head Projectors and LCDs. Theory class rooms are arranged in a separe building block. Departments Rooms are arranged in the same block classrooms for H.O.Ds and Faculty. Each classroom is arranged with a seating capacity of 66 students. In addition to the theory classrooms, Tutorial rooms are also arranged.
The girls’ hostel is within the campus itself and can accommodate 200 inmates. The boys’ hostel is also constructed in another area of the campus and can accommodate 300 inmates. Both hostels are designed to offer comfortable accommodation, and offer all the comforts and amenities for an ideal student life.
The college runs its own canteen on the campus, and caters to the students, faculty and guests. Quality food at a reasonable price is available at the canteen, in a healthy, hygienic environment. The college has a good Seminar Hall also in the first floor of the Canteen Block.
The College has its own transport infrastructure to provide convenient conveyance for the day-scholars and staff from nearby areas.Transport facility is arranged from Kannur, Payyanur and Kanhangad towns supporting conveyance.Pick-up and drop facilities are made available keeping in mind the convenience of all those who avail of the institution’s transport facilites.
Computer labs are equipped with more than 400 latest computers loaded with advanced software. Server is with nodes in a centralized lab with Internet facility with Wi-Fi.
The Computer Department is designed to offer students access and exposure to the latest equipment in the field. It is designed and installed scientifically to cater to the requirements of Engineering students of all branches.
The Rich industrial background of our computer department personnel gives students the opportunity to learn modern and relevant application tools. The Computer Laboratories are equipped with more than 240 Pentium Dual core IBM Computers with color monitor, multimedia facilities, scanner, and printers of all types.
The Computers are networked with structured cabling. In addition to one 62.5 KVA generator for captive generation of power supply, UPS has been installed for backup power supply up to 2 hours. The center allows access to 300 students at any given time.
The lab also offers 24-hours internet facility supported by a Leased Line and Broad band.
Library provides information services and full text digital and printed resources to support the scholarly and informational needs of the Institute Community.
The Central Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, e-books, journals, e-journals, etc. The Library is automated by Book Magic Software with barcode facility. Central Library has an excellent collection of 22245 volumes of books with 6607 titles. 54 national and 5 international journals are subscribed. Books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification scheme.
Library follows an open access system with an OPAC search facility. The library provides campus-wide IP- enabled access to NPTEL courses and other Electronic Resources. Reprographic, scanning and printing facilities are also made available in the library. Our Digital Library System is featured with 4829 e-books. The institution has the membership of National Digital Library.
Digital Library with enough space and media access provides international books and journal access. Houses more than 6500 e-books.
Laboratories are the lifeline of an engineering college. Ten years old SNGCET has the state-of-art laboratory, Infrastructure is that inspire students to be innovative in their approach. Apart from equipment; supporting staff with rich experience and professionally rich senior faculty is a good blend in SNGCET.
